There is an idea called the Principles of Work. These 4 Principles are instructive, elegant and wise. I love them. They remind me what is essential, to cultivate good habits, to keep my attention where it needs to be and when work is through. I don’t know where they originate but I picked them up at the New York School of Practical Philosophy. First, what’s a principle? Merriam-Webster says:

a : a comprehensive and fundamental law, doctrine, or assumptionb (1) : a rule or code of conduct (2) : habitual devotion to right principles <a man of principle>c : the laws or facts of nature underlying the working of an artificial device
